These days, we do seem to wrap ourselves in a little cocoon of safty. A little cocoon where we won't get hurt, but we can never suceed.
We need to come out of our cocoons.
Romans 12:2 helps prove this point!

Do not be conformed by the ways of this world, but be TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your mind.

This week we have been learning that we are all consumers. We just sit there and let buisnesses pretty much spoon feed us and say "You're hungry! Oh here's a great place to eat!" or "You're uncomfortable, here's a place to be comfortable".

We need to be creative!

Thats all i can think of for now...

later.

I guess I am not as literate when it comes to media as some people. I just had to take a quiz... and I disagree with one of the answers.

Excessive TV viewing has been linked to:

a. nearsighted vision
b. obesity
c. attention deficit disorder
d. fine motor skill impairment

The answer is B obesity... but studies have proven this wrong.

STUDIES have shown, and proven that exessive TV watching has been linked to people having ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDER! (ADD!!) Is this me and my family or does anybody else hear this?

Anyway... on a quiz of 15 questions I got 5 out of 15 right (although I should have gotten 6 right!!!)

Oh well...

By the time kids reach Senior Citizen Status, they will have seen over three hours of commercials! Thats a LONG time!

Also, according to a 2002 poll, the average American teen will ask their parents 9 times for products they've seen advertized on TV before the parents give in! Once again... that's a lot... But is that rapidly? If so... then that answer is off. That's because parents probably only give in because the kids are driving them insane! So that answer could be slightly off.

Yeah... that was really long.
Maybe I'll think of more and add on later! BOO-YAH!

What I learned during this period of blogging is that:

  • It is much easier to express your opionion on the internet than it is to express it in words.
  • When blogging, you can be random, or you can say whatever you want to say! There's no limits to the randomness either! YEY!
  • Even when there's no limits there are! I have learned this. You can't talk about something someone else will take offense at. This means I can't post something I want to say, but all you cheeseheads out there (Yeah you Packers fans) would kill me... I'll move on...

So... in summery what I have learned is that blogging is a way to exress your opinon, and just have fun! You can't forget your experience, and you will always remember in the back of your mind, your blogging experience.

I loved blogging so much, and learned so much, that I can't express everything here! :)

I also loved blogging so much that I won't forget you all, and I will continue to blog here everyday! (at least i hope so!)

So don't forget me!

Luv y'all!

P.S. Maybe more of what I learned later.

During my interview with the SCD girl, I asked her for her words of wisdom. THis is what she had to say:

"Live your life when you can, because you only have one and most of all, have fun!"
~SCD student.

Ok.... so i went out into the small world and interviwed a Summit Country Day student (don't Kill me!) Here's what she had to say:

The girls Uniform is a pleated plaid skirt, white colored shirt, shoes (not tennis shoes), a Summit sweatshirt (optional), and black white or blue knee socks. In the summer they can wear shorts, and polos (which they can't in winter). The only way they can wear tennis shoes is if they are wearing shorts (in the summer).

" I like uniforms because
1.) People make fun of what you wear (if you're not in uniform), and can't because they're wearing it as well.
2.) Because in the mornigns it doesn't take long to choose your outfit, because it's all the same thing."

If she could design her own uniform it would be:

"Polo's in winter and Summer
We can wear sneakers all year round and not just with shorts
and,
Less itchy shorts."

So, CHCA, remmember how blessed our uniform code is, and that our school isn't as strict as Summit Country Day!

C'y'all!

The effects of a loosened dress code is that people might dress inappropriatley, but we have the freedom of choice on what we WANT to wear. Maybe, if we had a day for no dress code like once a week, then maybe people might actually understand what NOT to wear, and maybe wear the right things, and we could be happy.
If I could design a dress code that produced the healthiest environment for the midddle school, I would say that it wouldn't have any specific colors. It would kind of be like a certain type of shirt, and pants/skirt.
I really don't have much to say on this... so, you know what? Leave your comments, and maybe I can improve my idea.
~peace out homeslices!~

I have noticed an inversely proportional relationship between student dress and student behavior. In other words, the more freedom students have with how they can dress for school, the less respect they tend to have for teachers, facilities, and rules.

What do you think the effects of a loosened dress code are? If you were able to design a dress code that produced the healthiest environment for our middle school, what would it be

Do we as Americans have the responsibility to use our superior technology to help the people of developing and underprivileged nations live better lives?

Thoroughly explain and defend your response.
Also discuss how being a Christian relates to this issue.

We as Americans DO have the responisbility to use our superior technology to help the people of developing and underpriviedged nations to live better lives. I say this because we have so many things that we take for granted that people in other countries, like Mexico don't have. I have been to Mexico on a mission trip in the orphanages, and all of us were surprised at how much they have. They have what is close to nothing at all! But they still are always happy. We Americans have so much, and yet we still are not happy with what we have. If you had everything taken away from you, would you just be happy whith anything given to you as a gift, or would you be bursting with joy and thankfulness.
Yeah, even if you don't like it, would you still be happy? Or would you turn it away?
Being a Christian relates to this issue, because you can see things through different eyes, and through what you think Jesus would do. WWJD? Remember that? Yes, the bracelets. Jesus would help those who would need help, and use his technology to help other people.

So, next time you see someone in need, put yourself in their shoes. What would you want them to do for you?

~Remember that.
Luv y'all!
